Airline Overview

Based at Dublin Airport, with hubs at Cork and Galway, Irish airline Aer Arann operates more than 600 flights per week on routes to the UK, Ireland and France. The airline was founded in the 1970s, initially flying between Ireland and the Aran Islands. In 1998, it launched scheduled services and is now one of the fastest growing regional airlines. Before the end of June (2009), Aer Arann will also have launched six additional routes between Ireland, UK and France, moved to a new Headquarters in Dublin and opened a new hangar in Galway Airport, the birthplace of the airline.

Check-in

Aer Arann recommends that passengers check in one hour prior to scheduled departure. The check-in desk closes 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Check-in closes at Sligo, Donegal and Knock Airports 20 minutes prior to scheduled departure.

Check-in at Manchester airport opens one hour and 30 minutes prior to departure time.

Passengers can check-in online from 72 hours up to 3 hours prior to flight departure on www.aerarann.com.

Baggage

Carry-on: One item of carry-on baggage is permitted per passenger, which must not weigh more than 15lbs (7kg) and must not measure more than 8 x 11 x 17in (20 x 28 x 43cm). Passengers should carry all medication in their carry-on baggage.

Checked: 44lbs (20kg) per passenger on all flights. The maximum total weight for any one piece of checked baggage is 70lbs (32kg).

Stroller/ Buggy Allowance: One item per infant booked

Excess: There is a fee for excess baggage of €5 ($7) per kg. The maximum total weight for any one piece of checked baggage is 32kg. Excess baggage will only be accepted if there is space on the plane.
